I wish Sentai would put out decent priced sub only BD for HD shows, but I guess not. Anyways I will be getting the DVD once it comes out because I've taken a liking to this show given that I didn't like the first episode that much.

Angel Beats and HSOTD are $39 on Amazon, cheaper for the DVDs. That's a decent price for a new show.

Also, this needs a Ghost Stories dub.

I screwed up, I meant to saw sub only BD releases, which I wish Sentai did.

Sentai announced this news at AnimeEXPO; this was back in the beginning of July. This isn't new at all.

Well the tease that TAN would have 3 similcast this Summer is correct as Sentai just also announced Kami-Memo as the 3rd title to go along with Ikokumeiro and Ro-kyo-bu and all 3 will stream starting next week on TAN.

I'd been hopeful that Kami-Memo ("Heaven’s Memo Pad") would get picked up by someone. So Yay!

The news of the acquisition isn't. The news of the simulcast is.

I RARELY complain when my favorite shows are licensed, but this one kind of warrants it. I really wish Sentai would start releasing more Blu Ray editions. I mean, I'm currently watching this show in HD and it looks gorgeous. A standard (I'm assuming 480p) release just doesn't seem right for this kind of show. Anyways, just my two cents.

Wow. A show that unites perhaps the two most boring things in existence: Slice of life moe anime and women's basketball. Wink

I agree completely. Sentai is probably betting paying more to produce blu for a niche show won't be financially feasible, but considering now niche anime is in general, I wish they would take the plunge. As you stated, you're already watching higher quality than what they are planning on giving us...that's going to leave a bad taste in many people's mouths.

The former ADV crew has said repeatedly that the older sports anime Princess Nine was their greatest dub work. Matt Greenfield holds that show near and dear, it feels that he gushes about the dub & the show at any chance he gets. Somehow it wormed its way into most every commentary track I've heard. Sadly I haven't seen the show, but I will someday, if only to hear the most heartfelt, serious & dramatic dub Greenfield et. al. believe they've made.

That said, the only way I'd be able to watch Ro-Kyu-Bu! is if it got the most hilarious, tongue-in-cheek Stephen Foster dub to date. It'd have to harken back to the early dub days of Orphen, or be the second coming of Ghost Stories for me to be entertained as the show has no other merits, besides being boner material for lolicons. The show can't even have any real athletic merit due to the age.

So like ScrappedAeon, Fosterized dub or bust. Speaking of his post, both High School of the Dead and Angel Beats! really could have benefited by an uninhibited Foster dub. Especially Angel Beats! as it is a comedy through-and-through. I LOL'd to the Japanese version, I should thus be ROFL'ing watching it in my native language.
