Does North America mean USA only or will it include other countries in the region and if so which ones?

They mentioned US first then expanding later. Also website first, then apps later. The site's in beta so we should go check it out to see how it looks, and how well it will hold loads, when we start hitting it. Heard lotsa other stuff in the panel... Still digesting it.

Was this supposed to be that website that was going to launch like a few years ago...uh open manga or something along those lines?
I hope they'll have a wide wide wide variety of manga! Especially weekly updates of the newest chapters! I would totally pay a membership fee if so! That way I can get my manga as usual and support the artists and companies at the same time I'd hate to wait year upon years for the chapters of certain series to catch up to where it is now in japan :/
This sounds good, let's see how this will work!

No, I think OpenManga is/was an independent manga-hosting website that wanted to go legit... (along the lines of Crunchyroll?) From my understanding, Jmanga was started up by the Japanese publishers themselves, along with Bitway, another Japanese company.
The other thing is, I think they're planning a pay-per-manga model, rather than a flat subscription. Maybe it's because multiple publishers are involved, so each can set their own prices for the manga hosted on the website (according to the announcement made at the panel yesterday). Unless they make changes based on the beta users' response, I guess?

This is good news, I've been waiting years. I'm wondering what's going on in Naruto's latest chapters. Will there be Bleach as well?

But is this site going to be free-to-read or pay-to-read? We still haven't been given a straight-up answer to this.
