This series isn't epic piece of anime history, but sure is a fun series to watch.

The first time I watched this series was in April 2009, then i rewatched the first 8 episodes one day in April 2010. Yesturday and today I again rewatched this series because i needed something to queue up my netflix list.

in 2009/2010, I gave this series a 6 because I didn't think it was a bad series, but I was mad at the ending spoiler[ where the teacher went away ] and some ecchi factor.

This year though after seeing literally over 80 animes since april 2010 I feel I went to hard on rating this series. I skipped over the fact that the series was about the students learning to better communicate with each other. I also realized even though the series is a little bit ecchi, the ecchi factor is done correctly in that it doesn't exactly throw it in your face. yes there are a couple perverted older male characters, and there is an episode about spoiler[ "measurement sizes" ] but that was still done in a somewhat believable fashion. Watching the ending this time I felt happiness for how the series went together. I'm also taking into consideration more that the teacher said spoiler[that he will eventually come back after his priorities are set straight], and to me that is a good enough way to end this series.

My new rating for the series is a 7. Like I said before the series isn't art, but it certainly is an enjoyable series that doesn't throw boobs in your face like most modern animes. The series had a Good enough ending to provide some closure, it taught some students life lessions, etc.

I wish they still made anime like this. This anime was made in 2001.

I am not huge fan of ecchi, as a matter of fact I avoid it if I can. Strawberry Eggs was probably the only series like this I have seen and... really liked. It was funny, it was touching, and the balance between the humour and the drama was just right. I really had a few good laughs while watching.

I actually saw it... 6 years ago? Maybe 7. I still remember it quite well. Mad me think I would like to rewatch a few episodes.

I couldn't stand this show. It was a work of subtle chauvinism with a sense of humor and set of morals too juvenile for my tastes.

This show was a fun show to watch, I kind of hope that somehow it gets rereleased on DVD in the future.

You brought up another reason why I liked the series. The male students had to fight for their rights to be treated equally.

To Eric. I hope it gets re-released as well. You can buy the complete set for 35$ random amazon vendors or buy the individual dvd's for next to nothing, but get screwed on the shipping and pay 30$ overall from the same amazon vendors.

That max I'd pay for a half-season series like strawberry eggs is 16$ if I really liked it.

This series is considered ecchi? Other than a few pretty tame penis jokes and a few panty shots, what does it do to earn that categorization?

I saw it about five years ago on Netflix disks and liked it enough to buy it. I was disappointed because the copy I got did not have the extras the release that Netflix had. Specifically, the student interview segments. If you are buying it now check to see what version.

I seem to recall a fairly extreme pantyshot early on in the series where outlines of Fuko's vulva were clearly discernible through her underwear. So yes, ecchi in my book.

I know it was early in the series because I found the show so objectionable that I dropped it after only a few episodes, which is something I very rarely do. No, I'm not a fan.

For me the series was enjoyable enough. I hated the (I think it was the first ep?) where they had the girl run and trip over and over and over and over..... But the farther I got into it the more I started liking it. The ending was better and worse than expected in that spoiler[the teacher leaving unexpectedly] was frustrating and disappointing, but when it was hinted that spoiler[the teacher's landlord had previously taught there], that was an awesome twist. Definitely did not expect that.

Overall I gave it a 6. It's a fun diversion that I wouldn't really classify as ecchi, but does have some fanservice.

That shot you're referring to was literally less than .1 seconds. About the only way to catch it is if you pause it. I really do not consider panty shots as ecchi to be honest. Even children anime has panty shots here and there.
The ecchi factor is mainly from spoiler[The Salary Man and the Old Man]
The Series has hints of ecchi but most anime has Ecchi scenes, even children anime.

It was an okay show but nothing outstanding. I ended up selling it last year along with other titles to reclaim some shelf space though.

Yeah, kinda hard to feel anything for them when the show's overall theme seems to be teaching the audience that men are superior to women.

How does the series teach men are superior to woman? All it is saying is that men were treated unequally, by specific woman. One of which we learn spoiler[had a bad emotional experience,] which we learned is why she was against men.
