Maybe someone out there can help me. I am looking for the English remake of the original Bubblegum Crisis sound track. (I know I'm showing my age again) I have the Japanese Language version but I heard there also was an English language version. I have been looking for over 2 years and I can't even find a reference to it outside credits on the VHS tapes. As I said in another post I have to watch my anime dubbed because I suffer from mild dyslexia and have a very hard time with the subtitles. When I heard that the music was completely remastered and rewritten for the show I was impressed. The song"Mr. Dandy" not withstanding, the rest of the music is very good.
Also the music in BGC 2040 was in English on the dubbded version and if it is available I would like to have it too.
It would be great if anyone could help me.
Thanks in advance.
P.S. I have moved this to the right forum. Sorry.

^ No. Not a stupid question. But after reading one of the recent "Buried Garbage" columns on this site I'd hazard a guess that the English dubbed songs were never released on a CD. Come to think of it, Animeigo might not have had the rights to release such a CD (unlike a Salior Moon CD that came out with the OP song done in English and the rest of the CD padded with original(sic) songs done by the VAs). Dunno. All the catalogues and flyers I got from Animeigo back in the 1990-1992 time frame have long made their way to the great recycling centre in the sky.
As for BGC OST CDs themselves: I have 6 of them and they're all Japanese pressings. Don't know if there was one with just the songs on them but if there was I never purchased it.

From what bits of info I had managed to find out regarding this (I had a similar interest years back), the English language songs were never full versions. The VAs had only recorded the necessary parts that went into the anime itself.

Thank you for your info.
I do remember that on the credits of the VHS tapes (all of witch were sold along with the rest of my anime to fund the honeymoon for the marriage that is now ending) that the English language soundtrack was available from Genom Records. Now I know that Genom Records was a play on words from the Genom Corp. in the show but I thought maybe the name was used to tie in the soundtrack to the show.

Taken from the Animeigo website FAQ #5
"#5: Are the English BGC songs going to be released on CD?
Probably not. We originally intended to do so, which is why there is a cryptic mention of "GENOM Records" on the credits of the dubs (it's also there because Robert thought it was a funny thing to do). However, some complications ensued, in particular the fact that for some of the songs, only the part of the song needed for the video was actually recorded. So right now it's on indefinite hold. "
That sucks. The songs were actually pretty good.
