I enjoyed their work on FLCL. They had a good run.

I like to think they're retiring to keep Adult Swim from producing any more terrible FLCL sequels.

A legendary band in the anime community. After hearing their work in FLCL all those years ago, I was on a pillows kick for close to a decade. Great stuff. My thanks and appreciation go out to them.

Depressing AF news. One of the greatest bands of the last 40 years. One of the last good ones, honestly.
For the the final time, "the pillows" is supposed to be lowercase

Bummer I'm really glad I was able to see them live at least once.

Fixed that for ya.
Still, what a sad turn of events, but all in all, I'm glad it happened. Godspeed, pillows.
Full version of "Vivid Vice" never.

What kind of ass do you have to be to come up with a take THIS cynical to this particular bit of news?

The letter sounds rather amicable, with the announcement saying, "We've been doing this for so long, it's time to move on," rather than confessing to irreconcilable differences. So on that note, given how long they've worked together, I think they've earned retirement.

I'm glad I can say I saw them 3 times in my life. I just wish I could see them (to use a phrase from Daft Punk, a duo I was never able to see) ONE MORE TIME.

Thanks for the run lads, you were great. Still haven't heard a better anime soundtrack than FLCL.

I've listened to the pillows for half of my life now and they are among the top bands for me. I felt like something was up because of the lack of new songs releases the past few years.
It's sad to see them go, but after nearly 30 albums, they've left an incredible legacy, not to mention their contribution to FLCL and a few other anime like Sket Dance, Ahiru no Sora and Moonlight Mile. Will always remain a fan and have a good time listening to the pillows. Thanks for everything!!

It's rare when you have a group where almost every song and/or it's instrumental is a banger... Them guitar riffs will be missed! Half of FLcL's appeal is entirely thanks to their soundtrack.
