If it was for the manga or anime I'd be interested in it.

I wanna say they already HAVE a stretcher minifigure. Plastic man or Mr fantastic, so they’d be all good on Luffys end

Really? The LA is surprisingly close to the manga design wise.
Like the only major difference here would be Usopp’s mini figure would be far less cartoony and Chopper would feature “realistic” texturing on his head sculpt

Huh? The designs are like night and day to me. Just compare the Figuarts the put out for the live-action series VS the recent East Blue ones.

Didn’t say identical. But close enough that when put into brick form the difference is negligible

Same here. Considering the history you'd think it'd be the original first, but I guess Netflix money talks. Hopefully there will be enough demand for the original series to get sets, though now I'd worry that it won't as long as these Netflix sets come out to avoid consumer confusion.

Actually, this may be a licensing loophole.
The rights to the anime/ manga likenesses may be tied up in different companies; but the Live action? Ripe for the picking.
A similar thing would be when Goodsmile/ Figma made Kamen Rider figures based of characters from Ryuki.
Bandai and Toei wouldn’t let them do it (obviously, it’s a rival company) but going through the company that made the legally distinct Kamen Rider Dragon knight with its on set of merchandising rights? They did it.
They didn’t sell that great IIRC, But they did it.

Not to mention even if they could the Netflix series has more exposure than either the anime & manga in some markets so of course they chose that.
