I'm so glad we're getting to see the flashback arc in full and getting to see Shiro and Yuri's story told properly in animation.

It's also neat seeing how much their youth would inform Rin and Yukio.

spoiler[I'm guessing Daisuke Namikawa is going to voice Satan once Hiroaki Hirata takes back over adult Shiro.]

though to be honest, this here is an instance where an anime original version of a series is better than the manga!

though there are other examples from other examples as well! claymore and soul eater are also prime examples!

Yuri is one of the sweetest characters around and I'm loving this season. Not only is she lovely, but has more moles on her face than any other anime character I could think of and they make her even more of a standout character.

You are using two of the worst examples for anime original content...as positive examples? Huh??

On the other hand, it's great to see a Golem monster; I can't recall seeing one in anime since Somali and the Forest Spirit.

The number of shows you have watched must be somewhat limited then. Golems appear fairly frequently in shows where magic or alchemy exists.

For example, there are at least three other shows in just this current season where a golem has appeared so far:

From Bureaucrat to Villainess: Dad's Been Reincarnated!
I May Be a Guild Receptionist
The Red Ranger Becomes an Adventurer in Another World

Poor Rin getting subjected to his parents' awkward love story as well as watching his dad have sex with a bunch of random woman.

Yuri is such a refreshing and endearing person. Between her compassion, empathy, and pure heart and Shiro's surliness and zest for life, you can see why the Okumura Siblings ended up the way they did.

Of course, there's still the Satan of it all...

I was struck this episode how much Yukio looks like his mother. Also the tie tying scene was a sweet call back (forward?) to the first season when Shiro had to tie Rin's tie for an interview. Sort of passing down the lesson from mother to son via surrogate dad.

If Shiro was one of the clones in the tanks, and so was the body Satan hijacked, does that imply that genetically Shiro practically was the twins' father (at least an uncle)? I'm assuming they're not all exact clones, or there wouldn't be much point in the experiment if all the bodies are identical.

Welcome back Hiroaki Hirata! Just in time to portray a more mellowed out Shiro who actually has friends and gets along better with Yuri, and can't deny her charms. I mean, can he keep calling her a brat after seeing her in that dress? And the bouquet scene...beautiful. They just look great together as adults.

I thought Daisuke Namikawa would also voice Satan but is that Tatsuhisa Suzuki? It sounded like him.

Poor Yuri. She cares so much, has so much empathy, but she's also become the only emotional link to an emotionally unstable personification of mankinds darkness. One that learned too quick but didn't have the capacity or empathy to properly restrain themselves from going mad with power. And Yuri is caught in the middle.

Also, Megumi Hayashibara is killing it as always, but I just want to put a shout-out to Cherami Leigh who is once again playing a Shonen MC's mom in a flashback arc. Also playing Yuri in the anime original content in season 1 was her first LA role, so it's even more meaningful.

Does anyone remember first episode of entire series? Elder Shiro helps Rin with his tie, prior to his first day at work? This is direct flashback to that scene.
