I could be wrong or missing some affiliation/partnership, but I don't think CMOA is owned by Square Enix; it's a website and app platform (a popular one) for ebooks, selling by both chapter or volume. At the bottom of the website is an indication that CMOA is owned by NTT Solmare (which also owns MangaPlaza in English), but it hosts many other publishers' works, maybe similar to Pixiv, or Bookwalker (BW is owned by Kadokawa). Actually, I think I figured out what happened here after a little more digging. Square Enix has a digital magazine/imprint, Gangan BLiss, which is hosted on CMOA (maybe or maybe not exclusively), and that's where Howl of the Heart serializes. |
