OK, nice to see an old 2006 J-drama adaptation (along with the 2008 film adaptation) that we hadn't had any previous access (uh, during the time when K-dramas have started to gain a growing audiences in the west, Japan didn't cash in on the drama fad that K-drama started) now being made available some many years later along with the 2022 version. I also noticed the manga has not been licensed outside of Asia, so am I expecting the manga to get pick up in the near future?

Oh heck. This is a pleasant surprise! I was in love with the cast of Nobuta wo Produce and watched this one as it aired because both leads were two of the leads from Nobuta! I really liked it. I highly recommend this series. The old man is also the same actor who played a dude from an old movie my host father in Japan showed me a long time ago, I believe called Tampopo. He's signiiiiificantly older in this series, but I still recognized his face!
