I still can't believe how such legendary, and iconic voice actor like Toru Furuya could ruin his good name, career, and legacy so much.

Sad

Welcome to the world of acting, where there is such a thing as never meet your heroes.

This scandal aside, I have a feeling that this could be the last Dragon Ball anime for original seiyu in general.

I like Suzuki but hearing him as Yamcha's going to be really surreal.

Not like the character is going to do anything, not even sure why they bother bringing him back. I expect Yamcha to get about as much screen time in this as he did in GT.

There are still 2 DBS arcs that Toriyama had some involvement in to adapt and the manga is scheduled to return. The friend of Toriyama who is fighting for the IP rights also wants that anime to return.
One last "canon" DB anime remains unless the IP becomes legal toxic waste. Then the cast can retire and the inevitable readaptation can begin.

You can say that, but the original cast is pretty old at this point. They don't appear to have anything finalized yet for more so this could very well be the last for many of them by the time any new seasons of Super could be made.

Another Toei character. Yamucha is so irrelevant and has been so irrelevant that I'm not bothered by this. Plus, Furuya is 71. Anything can happen health wise.

Why would they acknowledge a scandal that would ruin their entire career ?
