Thanks for the review. I've been rewatching the series recently (just finished season 4 episode 7 last night funny enough), so looking forward to when this comes to streaming and when I can add this to my shelf. I wouldn't mind an expanded TV version while we wait for the (presumably) final season to be announced once the (apparently) final volumes (17 & 18) have been released.

So long as the first third of runtime isn't entirelt devoted to a recap of the series.

That Goblin Slayer movie still irks me.

CZ2128 Delta finally gets her time in the spotlight. A careful study of the light novels and derivate manga and anime series shows the author Maruyama Kugane giving all of the main-cast secondary Nazarick characters extended action/combat scenes, with only CZ2128 Delta, Mari and Yuri Alpha left out until now.

Mare got his big fight in LN16.

I was treating that info as a semi-spoiler since the last two LNs are set after the anime series, this film and the manga which is where most folks will get their Overlord fix. It's notable that Ainz Ooal Gown himself usually gets at least one big fight scene per volume, sometimes when he's cosplaying as Momon.

This was fun, but CZ definitely stole the movie once she appeared.

I normally would have waited for this to stream but when I saw it was also getting IMAX screenings, I couldn't resist. Even though it officially opens tomorrow, there were plenty of showings tonight in NYC anyway.

Though, I really was surprised at how wide a release this is getting both sub and dub in the US and Canada, considering that except for a very brief written introduction to the to the background of the story at the very beginning, there is zero time spent on recapping. Which is absolutely a good thing for people who have watched the TV series, but conversely people who have never watched the TV series will probably not enjoy it as much.

Streaming on Crunchyroll today, this film shows why this is one of the series' most popular arcs—even if a bit too much was left on the cutting room floor.

I don't see this movie streaming on CR yet?

Does anyone know if it's even possible to obtain LN volumes seventeen & eighteen? The Encyclopedia page is maddeningly incomplete.

From what I can tell they have yet to be released and no release date seems to listed yet.

Yeah, and CR doesn't even seem to have announced a specific date for it yet - I feel like I was rick-rolled Sad

The case of the missing Overlord movie... hmm, I wonder if the upload to Crunchyroll was planned but delayed. I don't see it on there either, but they were promoting the movie on the Crunchyroll youTube page.

I think this might be a mistake in the blurb. The movie is playing in North American theaters right now, so it's not likely to be added to Crunchyroll until after it ends its run, which will go for at minimum two weeks but could last up to a month based on Crunchyroll's recent theatrical releases.

I kinda wish the whole demon and pleiades fight vs Ainz was included, as I consider it one of the best fights in the Light Novels after Ainz vs Shalltear. The movie seems to have gone to the path of skipping all the technical parts of its fights in order to get a smooth series of action effects.

I did quite enjoy it regardless. Also the so hammed up it hurts sequences about rune weapons really made me giggle laugh.
