Apart from being cast as Azusa Shiratori in the new Ranma 1/2 anime, Aoi Yūki is also currently voicing Madoka Kaname in the upcoming "Walpurgisnacht Rising".

Shame that Maison Ikkoku remake was skipped...
I wonder which seiyu stars would be in it, especially for the main cast.
They will probably do Inuyasha remake after this is done.

Sugita voicing one of the dumbest characters sounds fun

(very minor spoiler ) So it seems likely I can look forward to seeing Ranma's first kiss, unless the powers behind the show are complete cowards. Seeing that the new Urusei Yatsura didn't do the ep with Ran's left me a little worried.

Aside from some rare appearances, she pretty much retired in early 2000s.

That reminds me that Kodachi's Neutral Spanish VA, Rocío Prado, is not as active as she was before, I've heard her in some roles this year, but she voiced Rogue in the original X-Men '92 series, but they didn't call her for '97, though the entire cast was replaced. Coming back to Ranma ½'s remake, here in Spanish-speaking Latin America there's been some controversy when the first dubbed trailer was released a week ago, Ranma and female Ranma had new voices, people asked their original VAs, Carlos Hugo Hidalgo and Irma Carmona, why they didn't come back and Irma mentioned that there were some disagreements with the recording studio, though some say it's because the remake's director doesn't get along with them. Aside from that, Akane is voiced by her original dub VA, Rossy Aguirre, but people are saying that her voice sound much more rougher, which makes sense, it's been more than 25 years since she last voiced her, though Kasumi and Sound were also voiced by their original dub VAs and they sounded fine, and Carlos and Irma mentioned that they'd have no problems voicing Ranma, in fact, Carlos is a couple of years younger than Kappei Yamaguchi, Ranma's seiyū.
As for the newly revealed characters, I think Kuno and Tofu could be voiced by their original VAs in the LA Spanish dub, not so sure about Kodachi as I said before, Mikado perhaps, but Azusa will need a new VA since her original dub VA has retired years ago.

Personally, when we talking about remake's VA, which one do you prefer? Old VA returning but sounds rough (understandable because of old age) or casting New and Fresh VA?
I'm asking because I've been seeing this discourse lately in one piece fandom, about VA for the new anime remake. Some want completely new because this is new anime, can potentially last several years of succeeded, thus new set of VA needed, some other want OG, for iconic purpose, also feeling weird if character we grow up with sounds different.
Furthermore, for dub, this is Netflix remake we're talking about, even if OG VA *want* comeback, not sure if they can even get OG Crunchyroll VA back.
Appreciated if anyone one wants to answer with your opinion!

Speaking of seiyu, and One Piece, I still can't believe that Norio Wakamoto never got a role in it - only in the first OVA as titular Ganzack, which is something, I guess.
And I really hate that out of all people, the legendary Kaneto Shiozawa will never be able to have a role in One Piece, especially considering that most seiyu from 80s, and 90s did.

It depends...
Some VA can still sound convincingly young even in their 40s, like Yukari Tamura, or Yui Horie, or even older, like Akira Ishida, not to mention Toru Furuya, who was still voicing some of his decades old roles, but those people are rare.
It also depends on characters themselves; for instance, young boy characters who were voiced by female VA can be voiced by them for long time, like Conan, or Luffy.
Speaking of Conan, Minami Takayama is Japanese seiyu for Fu Hua from Honkai Impact 3rd, who has a body of young girl, but is actually very old age-wise, and she fits that role incredibly well, IMO.
...
As for the voices being too iconic to be replace, I used to have fear of stuff like that happening, and thinking that characters will be ruined that way, like when Takeshi Aono died whose most known role in his late years was probably that of Mihawk in One Piece, but when I actually heard his successor, Hirohiko Kakegawa, I stopped worrying.
While Kakegawa sounds quite different from late Aono, he still fits the role, and Mihawk feels like Mihawk.
Or that time when they announced that only Kotono Mitsuishi will be reprising her role, and not other main seiyu from 90s Sailor Moon anime who are legendary seiyu in their own right.
But new seiyu for old characters still fit incredibly well, and to be honest, Mitsuishi herself kinda sounded a bit...
Well, one could tell that she was actually trying to sound younger - I only saw the first 3 episodes of SM remake, and I heard that she becomes better later on, though.
I did rewatch the first episode of Crystal about a year ago, or so, and that time, Kotono sounded okay to me, maybe because I myself got older in the meantime.
But then again, she also voices S-Snake who is pretty much a little girl...
Kazuhiko Inoue recently replaced another iconic voice actor, Hidekatsu Shibata, as Dragon in One Piece, and he fits the role, despite a huge difference in their voices.
Late Daisuke Gori had one of the most powerful, and most recognizable voices ever, it was super unique, and while I did hear one, or two voice actors trying to emulate him, and sounding pretty close, in most cases, the people who replaced him simply did their own thing, and again, still fit the characters.
IMO, rather than trying to sound like the previous VA, it is more important to simply sound like how the character is supposed to sound based on how they look, and, at least in my case, I am able to adapt, and get used to their new voice.
That all being said, in the case of One Piece remake, especially after all these years, and the fact the main cast are at least in their 50s, at this point, they should really just go with younger, and new voices for it, which will be better in the long run.
If Yamato one day joins SHs, Saori Hayami will be the youngest seiyu among the main cast.

Somehow I never realized there was a Ranma character and a Hayate the Combat Butler character with exactly the same name.
Also, at this point I'm so used to identifying Aoi Yuuki with Maomao and similarly dry, jaded characters that it feels weird thinking of her as a cutesy character like Azusa, even though it was Madoka Kaname that put her on the map (and I understand her Rent-A-Girlfriend role is quite famous as well).

I see whenever they're recasting they're keeping the Urusei Yatsura trend of going for A-list names. They even brought back Mamoru Miyano!

Pbbt, Toshiyuki Morikawa is playing Tofu. HA! Goes from the Big Bad of Inuyasha to the guy who vanishes about 12 volumes in because Takahashi literally forgot he existed. Also amusing how Miyano's taking over one of Kazuhiko Inoue's roles in Mikado after Inoue played his father in the Urusei Yatsura remake

Look at those additions! It was expected that not everyone would return to reprise their role. We should be grateful the OG's were allowed to come back since that is a miracle.
