Man, WorldCat says there's no library that has volume 1 within 100 miles, and I always feel uncomfortable using ILL for something that far. Especially since they don't have entries for the later volumes at all. Libby doesn't even have an entry for the title or author.
What I've read on ANN does sound interesting, both in this interview and the volume 1 review last year, but I'm a little reluctant to drop $11 a volume on it sight-unseen when I'm already having trouble with shelf space. ($14 a volume, if I wanna support my local indie bookstore.) |

Does your library have a process where patrons can request new book acquisitions? My library lets patrons ask for 20 new books each month, and they don't acquire the books I suggest 100% of the time, but they say yes more often than you'd think. Granted, I live in a mid-sized city with a relatively well-funded library system, so YMMV. Worth trying though. You could also check out the live-action adaptation (it's currently airing). I really enjoy the phenomenon of manga artists using their voices to advocate for a more inclusive, informed, and compassionate future. My Girlfriend's Child, Sex Ed 120%, and Vinland Saga are my favorite examples of manga artists teaching and promoting a better way of life without preaching. Thanks for doing this interview! |
