Mochi Kaeri (#213556) is a circle of animators that should be "Company" not "Person".
Currently they are a circle like Studio Sleep (company#21279). In the credits of Higurashi Sotsu Ep 15., Mochi Kaeri is listed as a credit block with Chreest and Yoshi Kirishima being animators part of Mochi Kaeri. If they’re a circle rather than a de facto company they would fall into the same sort of grey area as e.g. CLAMP and music groups so it’s not cut and dried.

Sorry to revive this, but as mentioned they are a circle the way that Studio Sleep is, which is listed as a Company. Both Mochi Kaeri and Studio Sleep function as studios, despite identifying as circles. I think it would make more sense to compare Mochi with other existing animation circles/studios than with CLAMP or music groups.
It wouldn't make sense for Mochi Kaeri to be categorized as a person when in the anime credits, there is a Mochi Kaeri credit block with Yoshi Kirishima and Chreest being listed in that credit block. (Again, it's hard to tell at first because the credits is SO squeezed, but the spacing is there). |
