I wonder if this is affecting TV anime official websites as well.

Yes, it is. Days with my Stepsister is one of the affected websites mentioned on other news sites.

Huh, never knew niconico was related to kadokawa. Good to know. I'll be starting a notebook of my gripes against kadokawa like the kuromi note soon... If niconico doesn't recover from this incident this'll be entry number one...

That's really interesting. I noticed this website was down yesterday or the day before when doing encyclopedia updates and thought it was odd.

Starting to see manga/novel authors saying this isn't just critical promotion lost, but also affects stores' ability to order their books at all, or restock older titles. Analogue ordering methods are still functional, but that's a lot of extra work.

Kadokawa issued a statement yesterday (June 14) saying they shut off the affected servers which impacted the entire data center, including services such as accounting, publishing, and a number of their anime websites. Delays are to be expected in virtually every way aside from planned broadcasts of Kadokawa produced anime (won’t be available on Niconico for now).

This really is awful for them as well as the industry as a whole. I hope they find whoever did this and throw the book at them.
