Not gonna lie, I am super happy.

This was one of my top 5 "Anime that didn't get fully adapted that need to be fully adapted" list.

Eyeshield 21 its Top 1.

If you loved the Dragon Quest Dai remake, you'll love this one. Yaiba is very much in the same era as DQD. This anime is gonna rock.

I really hope they pull it off! The manga is quite lengthy so I hope they don't rush through things too much.

It is being advertised as a "complete anime adaptation" (完全アニメ化).

So of the original series, how much manga did the animate?

How many episodes is the estimate to do a complete adaptation this time around?

Literally my first anime ever. Will not hit the same of course in the eyes of a jaded adult, but nevertheless I'm happy this is getting a new coat of paint!

From what I can find online the original anime adapted into Volume 16, out of a total 24. Traditionally most anime adapting manga tend to average out to around 3 or 4 episodes per volume, so at 24 volumes that'd result between 72 & 96 episodes.

While Detective Conan is a cultural icon in Japan, I doubt that'd result in anything beyond a solid 50-52 episodes for this new Yaiba anime, so there will likely be some stuff skipped over, or at least accelerated through.

I watched like 7 episodes of the original but it wasn't for me.

Some more of the characters are showing up in Detective Conan in recent years so might be worth a shot again.
