I'm surprised the new series will still be based in Japan/Area Eleven.
I thought it would be based someplace else like the Akito subseries, like in Mexico or something.

Probably because Japanese authors are most comfortable with Japanese setting, and Japanese characters.
Think about Kallen being Kozuki, rather than Stadtfeld, or how in NGE they went from Sohryu to Shikinami for Asuka...
The whole cool Japan thing.

I would be interesting to see more stories in the Code Geass universe in other places that were conquered by Britannia, though the Code Geass series never seemed that interested in expanding its universe compared to other mecha shows like Gundam or Macross, though I have to admit the way the original show justified itslef taking place in Japan kind of funny with the existence of Sakuradite, though if I remember correctly I think the reason why Britannia invaded Japan was because on the nearby islands there were some temples that were necessary for Emperor Charles to achieve his goal. I think it can all be summed up as, "this is a Japanese show and therefore the whole nation is the center of the universe".

Looking forward to meeting the new characters, though some of them remind me of old faces...I especially love the girls' designs.
And it's nice to hear Riho Sugiyama in something.

My goodness! Yoko caught my attention in the trailer and I couldn't wait to see her design in full and my goodness! She is amazing! As for Natalia, she is beautiful. CG always delivers in regards to waifu's.
