Great, I’ll just mosey on over to one of the most bloodthirsty countries in the world, a country with almost no human rights, and spend my time and money there because I like Dragon Ball. I wonder if they’ll be offering discounts to starving Yemeni children.

I can only assume the people in charge either don't know how awful that country is, or just don't care because money is money. Either way, don't take your non-cis or female friends there, they will NOT be treated well. Dangerous country

I wonder how they’re going to acknowledge that Bulma a female is not only the most inventive and ingenious member of Capsule, but also in the current canon is the top executive of the company.

Looks and sounds pretty neat to me. People need to remember the world exists outside the US and there's plenty of countries that have a much bigger anime fandom than here and getting upset everything isn't in America isn't a great look.

Considering how unfriendly they are to 90% of the population of America, yes, I kind of wish it existed in the US.

What does this have to do with the objective fact that Saudi Arabia is a place that regularly engages in human rights abuses and openly treats women as second class citizens?

You basically pretending that Saudi Arabia’s stronger anime fandom mitigates their real world problems (which is a common problem I’ve seen) is what’s really not a good look.

Going by that logic, the park should be on somewhere like Mexico, which actually makes much more sense in reality. But why is the first ever DB park in KSA out of all places huh.

China and Saudi Arabia are the two biggest foreign investors in anime from what I've been told. Does Mexico have the market/money to fund and build something like this?

Also people should probably watch the not-so-thinly veiled racist comments.

Because they have money to burn. I wouldn't be surprised if they are using the Saudis to pay for the development and then later just copying it in other parts of the world providing its successful. Thats assuming it actually gets built.

By the same token people should stop assuming that calling out the country’s myriad of issues is purely racist. And actually make themselves aware of what that phrase actually means but until then let’s stop pretending that this attraction is going to be on the level and going to be inclusive to anime fans of all genders and sexuality. Especially those living in the country itself.
