They’re really pulling out all the trimmings for this one. I just fear this is going to lead to more disingenuous JJK/Solo Leveling type “why is this so popular?” and “why is this getting pushed so hard?” discussions.
For the record, the manga is only OK, slightly under average, IMO.

Demon Slayer is another "just ok" manga and its anime adaptation is a big hit all around the world, that's what its producers are aiming to

Kaiju Number 8 will also stream on X/Twitter.
I bet y’all $1 Elon Musk will do something to make a clown of himself for the 10,000th time that day w/ the anime.

So, CR is showing the live broadcast at 14:00 UTC and then you can stream it at 15:30 UTC

You know you've made it big when you get a same day dub.
Also the English cast sounds great! Seems like a remote dub too, so that's even better.

I'm interested in this one and I think the dub cast looks great but I'm concerned about them trying to push the simulcast to the exact same time as Japan. Like are they getting copies of it earlier because I'm not sure how they can get the subs out that fast unless they're either getting an already made translation from the Japanese licensors or using AI subs like Crunchyroll was saying they would do recently to close the time gap between releases.

Typically the time gaps between a show airing in Japan and launching for simulcast is a contractual obligation, not a necessity. Subtitles for simulcasts are definitely delivered fast and hurried most of the time, but not so fast that a 90-minute difference would have any real significance. The fact that the series has same-day dubs in multiple languages also suggests materials are being delivered to licensors well in advance.

That makes me feel better about this as the timing seemed suspicious after that interview with the Crunchyroll CEO where he was touting AI subs to combat piracy. And you had other weirdness going on with Kaiju No. 8 like the show is also going to be streaming free on Twitter.

I mean, there have been simultaneous dubs in the past for anime, but this is pretty common in other languages apart from English in other types of media, movies and TV shows have been dubbed in advance for their releases in international markets for years, sometimes they release earlier than than in their home countries. With streaming services this has become even more common for weekly series, just to give some recent examples, X-Men '97 and Invincible get relased each week dubbed into various languages.

So the episode will stream live with Japan (meaning no pausing or rewinding), the episode will be unavailable for a little over an hour, and then it will stream as usual at the expected time. Is that right? I’ve never seen a live broadcast functionality on the CR website, does such a thing exist?

I forgot about the whole "streaming on X" part of it, perhaps CR will stream it there too? They did recently make changes to the site and did add DRM to all of their streams, maybe they have a live stream functionality?
My understanding of their wording it "Watch it live and then wait a hour and if you missed it".

If this is getting a same-day dub, that's a pretty good sign production-wise. Like all previous cases, episodes are well-enough ahead that they can actually send out materials early enough in advance to work on them (typically at least a two-week period is needed to finish an ep for a new seasonal).

Eh, it's been really slow and repetitive whenever I looked at some chapter and its comment threads, though the beginning is not so bad, so first season might be OK. It's got a big cast, yet keeps forgetting about them and pulling them out when many readers forget those characters, while focusing on same boring antagonist. Author should really concentrate on main team of MC and his buddies, so people have characters they know and care about on manga pages.
