Dragon Ball (42 volumes) and Ranma 1/2 (36 volumes) are the two longest ones I can think of. InuYasha's up to 30 (in the US, anyway...Vol. 30 is up for pre-order, at anyrate), Astro Boy's got 23 volumes, Basara 24, Boys Over Flowers and Iron Wok Jan both have 25.....

Rave Master has 35 volumes but so far only 22 have been released in North America. Fushigi Yûgi has 18 volumes, and those are the only ones I can think of at this time. I need sleep

One Piece has 44 Volumes so far in Japan, but only 13 have been translated into English thus far; still when its done thats gonna be a really long series.

The top three (though you could argue that DBZ is a seperate series) plus Lone Wolf and Cub and Ruruoni Kenshin are the longest I can think of.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Oh My Goddess yet. 25 in the US with 26 coming in April out of 34 so far in Japan.

If I can remember, Captain Tsubasa was about 37 or 38 volumes long.

That may very well be (actually 37 by the encyclopedia), but the question is how many have been released in English, and as far as I can tell Captain Tsubasa has never been released in an English speaking country.

I dont have the patience to read a manga series thats 30 volumes long. 20 is as far as I'll go. Wow I had no idea One piece is 44 volumes long. That is super long! Are there any longer ones? Like 50 volumes long or more?

One Piece looks like it will easily pass the 50 volume mark before the story comes to a conclusion in Japan. I know there are a number of other 50+ series out there, but I don't know that any of them have been translated into English.

Berserk is up to 30 in japan and shows no sign of stopping. Were up to volume 15 (well in a day or two anyway). Darkhorse has been pretty decent with its releases so we should see quite a few more volumes before years end.

How can you forget about Golgo 13? It's been released in Englished, but I don't think from the beginning though.
Oh, and Hajime no Ippo is 70+ volume, but I don't think it's translated yet into English.
