Well yes, if "one of the first" also includes Watashi ga motete dousunda, from how many years ago. (There the plot was kicked off by her slimming down, but then she gained it all back, the point was that she should be accepted and loved as she is, regardless of weight.)

I thought that title was strange, but didn't place why at first. It's an inaccurate translation huh? Localisers doing their thing.

A more accurate translation would be "Fatness, Love, and MIstakes", maybe "Obesity, Love, and Mistakes" if you wanted a bit more tact. If you wanted a more jokey localized title like some series get ("Catch These Hands!" or "Dick Fight Island"), maybe "Fat Girls Need Love Too!" or something, but the title isn't meant to be a feel-good thing. But weight is one of those topics localizers seem to downplay or erase in translations like how titles about slavery get changed (Demon Slave being changed to "Chained Soldier"). Elves Don't Diet was localized as "Plus-Sized Elf" as well despite that essentially being a fetish series. I remember reading critics being upset at the "bait and switch" of Plus-Sized Elf when they read it and saw a bunch of jokes about women's bodies sizes.
I read the first few chapters online out of curiosity, and while the MC is happy with herself, most of the supporting cast still makes fun of her and the way she eats and looks so I don't know if people looking for something like that will enjoy it or not.
