NEWS: Solo Leveling Manhwa Has Planned Live-Action Korean Adaptation

Well, that's one way to give the series an adaptation that still keeps the Korean names.

Now I'm curious, when Solo Leveling's anime gets English-dubbed (it's definitely guaranteed since it's been in Crunchyroll's hands from day one), do you guys think they'll use the Korean names, or will they have no choice but to go with the Japanese names Aniplex and A-1 gave them?

You know that's a good question. For the anime, if they go with the Japanese name rather then their Korean names that's going to cause a lot of confusion for people who read the webtoons/web novels assuming these readers have never watched an anime or read a manga. Also if the live-action K-drama adaptation used the Korean names, that's going to confuse fans of the anime who may not have known about it's Korean origin, nor have never had any prior experience with K-drama or anything Korean.

Here's another question: If the live-action K-drama adaptation get picked up like let say Netflix pick up the rights to stream the K-drama, then will Crunchyroll allow that anime to make an appearance on Netflix to help promote the K-drama adaptation? I mean I've seen some well "cross-over" product appearing on competitor's platform like for example:

Netflix syndicate several HBO shows (while these same shows can be watched on HBO Max)

Indiana Jones trilogy movie appearing on Disney+ while still owned by Paramount and can be watched on Paramount+ at the same time.

The 2019 Twilight Zone created by Jordon Peele, and the original TV series (which both of them you can watched on Paramount+) appearing on Amazon Freevee.

Can Crunchyroll allowed the anime to appear on Netflix assuming if Netflix get the rights to the live-action K-drama? Is that possible?

If I remember, the Japanese dub of the Tower of God anime translated the main character's name into Japanese and the dub changed it back to the original Korean name so there's precedent for the original names to be used in a dub - especially considering the series is already established here.
