Awesome! Now if only they make this last longer than 12 episodes. They have a lot of catching up to do. It almost sounds like they're skipping the Terror of the Kraken and Academy Seven Wonder arcs.

The Shimane Illuminati Saga begins in volume 12 and ends in 15. Volume 10-12 is contains another arc. --------------------------------------------------------- All they had to do was announce that it was covering a new arc in the manga instead of what they initially stated. Another character designer change. You can see it immediately, but very clearly with Shiemi. So the question is... will UVERworld do the opening again or will ROOKIEZ is Punk'D (returned from 4 year hiatus in April) return to do it? I'm assuming UVERworld since they are basically AnE's go-to performers since they returned for the previous season.
The spoiler[Kraken] arc is 3 chapters and takes place after the previous arc the anime adapted. That could be made into an OVA bundled with the manga volumes, but considering the pace the manga volumes have released since 2022 (1 per year compared to at least 2 per year prior), that might be questionable. After the spoiler[Kraken] arc and before the Shimane Illuminati arc is the spoiler[Academy Seven Wonders] arc. That has enough chapters for 1 cour. Considering the SI arc is clearly labeled in the title, the arc is being skipped. |

This is wonderful news! I doubt they'll skip the Seven Wonders arc as it's full of pretty essential character building.

ANN is probably quoting the press release. I doubt they looked up the volumes themselves. So, if the ones writing the release didn’t make a mistake… |

This is great news! Blue Exorcist is one of my fav anime (I haven't read the manga). I remember waiting a while (like a few years) between the first two seasons. It's finally coming back.
