I wonder if JustMonika will like this announcement. It may not be Yen Press, J-Novel Club, Seven Seas, Kodansha USA, Dark Horse or Viz Media, but it's something.

Haven't read it, but better hope it won't have anything too raunchy. Udon has a nasty habit of censoring their stuff, once even dropping an entire volume of a series...

It actually has a lot of fanservice, although I wouldn't say anything that's above what you usually see in an anime, so I hope it isn't censored.

For comparison, a shower scene was censored in Summer Time Rendering by them (they censored some stuff in other chapters as well). To compare, the same scene on MangaPlus remained untouched.

I actually am a bit nervous. Married couple has quite a bit of fanservice (though no nudity), but if you censor on me once I have a hard time trusting you.

Well, this is for distribution in the west, correct? That means that erring on the side of censoring middle and high school girl fanservice is the right thing, especially when the alternative is possibly running afoul of local child protection laws and alienating a large portion of their potential consumers. In the country of origin for this material the target market for this is 12-18 year old boys and it is acceptable according to the local laws and cultural values for them to view it. But in the west, most of the people who read manga and light novels are adults, correct? Not certain that for-profit corporations should be concerned with the rights of western adults to look at uncensored 9th grade girls. And as for our own 12-18 year old boys, of course our own western media doesn't serve up said content aimed at them: it is illegal.
Not being a moralist here, or a third wave feminist on some bent against "the male gaze." If the issue was media aimed at Japanese adults that contained adult female nudity, well western media has R-rated movies and pinup magazines so that is different. But expecting companies to serve up foreign content that is illegal for western companies to do so ... even if a good argument does exist for that, opposition to censorship isn't it.

But this was physical volumes, you don't usually censor home media stuff(like Blu-rays or physical manga) unlike with streaming. Here it was the exact opposite.

You are telling on yourself SO HARD right now by how upset you are about a company covering up a middle-school girl's body in their manga release.
Anyway, Ottoman sounds great.

That's why it's a good thing that most westerners who would mind don't know about The Labyrinth of Grisaia (18+ version). Lol

Very happy about this though. Wouldn't want Dark Horse to have it though because that's the company I'm always grinding an axe with for dropping Eromanga Sensei after 3 volumes. They need to give up license to a company that will actually print all 12 manga volumes and call it a day.

Just from my own experience with the property I feel like the fanservice is acknowledged as being as much a part of the series' identity as the romance and relationship development, especially when it's part of the Main Heroine's personality.
Kind of like My Dress Up Darling in that respect.

My Stepmom’s Daughter is my ex manga hasn’t been updated for years and is far far behind the anime. Why would they license and release this? The manga is dead!
