Opening sounds good, but feels kinda unfitting for something like Kenshin.

You think the English Dub cast will be the same as the live action movies?

Is the series supposed to be adapted in this run or it will come back some time later? I think that 40-60 episodes will do, but if they are planning to adapt the full thing in 24-26 episodes it will be a mess.

No one knows, but it was kinda expected - because it's Noitamina anime and they never do more than two-cour in a single run, and there also comes the second part of the Urusei Yatsura remake which coming out in 2024 - so that means it most likely will be in January to take the slot.
But yeah, I think they're going for a split.

Ah good; the trailer implies that they are going for a mainly orchestral/acoustic musical score, expected pop-song OP and ED nothwithstanding.
The Ennio Morricone inspired "mournful spaghetti western guitar and saxophone" scores of 1980's to early 1990's Fighting Anime (Such as "Fist of the North Star", "Dragonball Z" and even "Ranma 1/2") lends a dignified granduer to the genre that synthesizers and techno that followed could not match (with the exception of Kajiura Yuki's "rock opera" style); and the "Spaghetti Western" score is exceptionally appropriate in the case of "Ruroni Kenshin" as the Clint Eastwood "Dollars Trilogy" that started the genre were directly inspired by Kurosawa Akira's Samurai Epics ("Yojimbo" in particular) after all.
Rubbing hands in anticipation.

The animation looks pretty neat. It seems they made the action sequences more intense or something. Also, Saito is dressed in black?!

What do you mean? That dub cast sounds a lot more likely to be used for the reboot compared to most of the other VAs from the older dubs who seemed to have moved on from anime.

I remember that was the plan for the series should it be cancelled by Shueisha

I was convinced it was going to run for 5 straight cours and adapt all the story.

Does any anime do that anymore? Aside from the ones already doing it like One Piece and Detective Conan that run non-stop? Would be nice if they did it like Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood and do it all in one go start to finish, but that seems unlikely and undoable these days. Two or three 2-cour runs seems reasonable enough.

How are they gonna tell the whole story in 26 episodes? Will there be a second season?
