Seeing there were hardly any new scenes in that trailer, I'm expecting major production issues and delays with this one.
Why couldn't they give it to an established studio???

Don't you think that's way too early to judge it?

Bug Films are a new animation studio founded by former staff members of OLM, specifically Team Kojima. In fact, the director Kazuki Kawagoe directed Komi Can't Communicate with primarily the same staff.

Love how there is a scene here that's near identical to a cut from Komi Can't Communicate.

Looking forward to seeing this, I am curious though as to why they chose Netflix as oppose to a streamer like Crunchyroll, personally I feel they could even more
Views if they also out it on CR.

Just expecting trouble, that's all. And hope I'm wrong.

They cannot even show any new footage in the trailer after 6 months, that's never a good sign.

Looks good to me! It's kind of funny to have Furukawa as Kenichiro because it reminds me of Shaddiq from Witch From Mercury.

I can understand your concerns. Komi had a very strong premiere, but as early as ep 2-3, it already became just an above average production, with a few specific episodes in the second cour looking very poor. Wouldn't surprise me if it got a repeat of that.

Edit: Actually, the first episode of Komi was handled by Bugfilms... so yeah, I don't really know how this will go, honestly.

It's always kinda interesting to see the societal psyche being catered in these animes... xD
I mean, the zombie post apocalyptic survival has always been a thing, but in this one they combined the black corporation slave part that often pops up in isekai anime, with the zombie apocalypse thing.

I think Viz Media is officially done giving their shows to Crunchyroll now. Viz removed shows like Bleach and One Punch Man from Crunchyroll quite a while ago. I just realized that I can't find Death Note or Inuyasha on Crunchyroll anymore either.

My best guess on why they're doing this is because Disney and Netflix, who produce union dubs, are willing to pay Viz more to stream their shows, or something down those lines. Idk, something like this wouldn't surprise me given Crunchyroll's anti-union policy.

You might be right with that last part it wouldn’t surprise me if that’s playing a huge factor. It’s worth noting though that there are still some Viz licenced titles on CR like Accel world, Naruto/Boruto (at least subbed), Yashahime, and Hunter X Hunter..though who knows how long these series will stay in CR.

because production committees can't wait for even new studios to set themselves well as well.

Not really. Their studio had only just been established at that point and most of their staff still worked for OLM (probably due to contracts). It wasn't until Komi was over that Bug's staff left and stopped working on their other shows

There's evidence that suggests Zom was supposed to be an OLM show as well. You can see collections of the manga in their office in interviews about Summertime Render. Hopefully moving the show out of the studio isn't to its detriment.

Episode 1 still credits Bugfilms for Production Assistance, so it doesn't really matter what their "condition" was. It still very much was an actual outsource.

because anime companies that fund anime doesn't wanna wait even for new established studios as them and bind as well which wasn't any different because it was a kadokawa title in the end
