Animation is pretty mid, but I find Claire's voice actor well cast, which is very high in my set of priorities

a
yes, it makes me wonder if they'll make this a generic romcom or will actually focused on the small pieces of info that reveal how is it to be gay in Japan, the latest would make it a much better series to watch.

Aimi and Ikumi Hasegawa leading a Yuri show? Ikumi Hasegawa as a tsundere? Looks pretty fun and cute!

They are not voicing the MC pair but best friend of one MC and maid of the other one.

As someone who has read the light novels, the PVs don't give me the feeling that it can. The first PV gave me the expectation of something along the lines of a kids anime (makes sense since I think the studio does more kids anime than otaku anime), which is perfectly fine. This PV had me dial back my expectations further.
That said, are the two girls hanging around Claire gonna somehow be relevant in the anime? I legit can't remember book Claire having an entourage around.

She did though. It's just that Rei never bothered learning their names because they were just "the entourage". They were quietly dropped from the story after a couple chapters.

Yeah, they are, however, somewhat more prominent in the manga, and also particularly so in the spinoff novel "She's so Cheeky for a Commoner" which retells the story from Claire's perspective. I think they briefly reappeared and were mentioned by name in one of the later volumes of the main novel series IIRC.

Not really. Outside of Kono Oto Tomare! and Dr. Ramune which was shounen, most works animated by that studio are made for young adult women.
