Holy cow, I never imagined we'd get what's essentially MS IGLOO 3.

So an all CGI show with an Australian playing the lead character, a Zaku pilot during the One Year War?
Interesting. |

It clearly says 0079 on the title and will take place in November 0079. Where are you getting 0081? |

It says 0079, but it also says 11 months after the war. The OYW ended January 0080, so this would take place December 0080. |

Half of the current blockbusters are planned in Unreal Engine 5 before being shot and it´s used on a bunch of current cartoons, outside of gaming cutscenes. That aspect doesn´t worry me. It´s the creators I ain´t jazzed about but good Gundam anime became hard to come by over the last decade and a half so these randos can´t do much worse, I guess.

One possibility is that the trailer's text meant "eleven months after the revolutionary war" started, which would place it in the last months of U.C.0079. |

November 0080 would be the math for that. Despite that, November 0079 makes more sense given the image and the panel footage. |

I wonder if this pilot fought the White Dingos? While unlikely, don't be surprised if Rise from the Ashes is referenced a few times.

Not a huge fan of the Zaku II and Gundam designs here, but maybe they'll look better in motion. Nor terribly excited about more OYW stuff (let's see them try expanding the late-UC era, someday!). But IGLOO was surprisingly solid, so hopefully this is, too.
And exploring the aftermath of the OYW could be fun, especially considering the fact that the war didn't really end with the Principality's surrender -- there was heavy fighting pretty much everywhere throughout 0080 and 0081, which quieted down for a bit in 0082 before that last flurry of conflict in 0083. Personally what I'm ist interested in is seeing how the Zeon forces organize in this period. For the media we've already had, it seems like there was little to no cooperation between disparate factions, with various Zeon forces effectively functioning as warlords of small fiefs. Would be interesting to see if the EFF treats all leftover Zekes the same, or would do something like allying with one faction to deal with another. |

There was G-Reco now there is F-Requ. Not really interested, but I need to see more.
