Let us be real here and cut through the corpo speak, this is happening due to Forspoken bombing pretty hard.

I was kind of looking forward to the game before release but after playing the demo I lost all anticipation for it.

They didn’t skimp on the ad budget either. So for it all to fall apart due to low sales and critical backlash to Whedonesque dialogue is enough to make anyone want to pull the plug.

I’ll be honest, while the dialogue was an easy banner to rally behind, I think Forspoken’s biggest sin was that it was very obviously unfinished. Like, this was the very definition of spit-shined. There are whole chunks that seem stitched together by little more than a fade-to-black (I’m looking at you, early stealth sequence) that just scream that this game just didn’t have enough time in the oven—and I do actually think the hammy dialogue could’ve worked, if it hadn’t been paired with uncanny, wooden facial animation that was so unpolished it dropped everything waist-deep into the Uncanny Valley.

I honestly had a great time with the game. The dialogue did not bother me (I especially roll my eyes at those complaining about the profanity, man don’t watch films like The Big Lebowski or The Blair Witch Project then…) and the magic battling/parkouring was incredible.
I think this is going to be a Days Gone situation, more people will slowly realize the backlash against the game initially got a bit extreme to say the least, and it will be generally recognized at least as a pretty good game.
Obviously, too late for the studio now, but watcha gonna do?

While I admittedly didn’t play Days Gone and likely never will eventhough it sits in my PS Plus library some of the criticisms of the game doesn’t seem entirely unwarranted.
Not helping the game is it’s writer/director complaining about “woke” reviewers hurting the game’s reception.

I'm not really a fan of this 'stagger gauge' kind of gameplay Square-Enix seems to push out a lot. FF13, FF7R, now Forspoken. FF16 might have it as well I think. It was okay at first but seems to be kind of same-y now.. The dialog did not help things either...
