Ohhhhhhhhhhh this looks good, this looks SO GOOD. I've been a fan of the manga for a while and when I heard rumors this morning there was an anime coming out, I was excited but nervous. After all, too many adaptations of series I love have been majorly flubbed. But this trailer looks stunning and I LOVE the casting of Aoi Yuuki as Maomao. I can't wait to gush all over this!

Awesome! I just got into the manga!

The visuals and direction look amazing and Aoi Yuki is perfectly cast as Maomao.

Cool. I'm not familiar with the source material but The Raven of the Inner Palace has whet my appetite for emperors, consorts, ladies in waiting, palace intrigue and whatnot.

Yes it was about time for Maomao to reach the small screen.

First Pluto and now THIS?! SO BLOODY EXCITED!!!

Looks like they will be adapting a lot of materials, which means it will at least be 2-cour at this point. They can't cram all that stuff into 13 episodes.

No date but definitely not making it for Spring, but summer is still possible. I am hoping for Fall 2023 though.

Trailer looks AMAZING! Pray for good animation. OLM is very well known so I am not too concerned but stuff can happen.

Satoru Kosaki and Kevin Penkin both on the soundtrack is my main interest point, tbh.

I only saw things from the first two light novels. Was there stuff from beyond that I missed?

This is a series that could live or die by how much they intend to adapt. Hopefully they limit themselves to two books per cour, because they'd really have to gut the thing to cram it into the typical 3:1 (or, god forbid, much worse 4:1) ratio.

It's really good! No supernatural elements, though. I'd say it's more similar to Ascendance of a Bookworm than anything else -- a story about a deeply autistic child who keeps getting herself (and everyone nearby) in trouble.

Basically it's set up like a bunch of short stories revolving around various mysteries. It does a great job using those stories to flesh out the secondary and tertiary cast. There's definitely palace intrigue (and no small amount of it) but it's like Bookworm, too, in that most characters are just (usually good) people doing their best, sometimes in conflict with each other. Outright villains are pretty rare.

I highly recommend giving the novel series a read. It's easily the best in-progress light novel series I've encountered, and I've been through a lot of them. Definitely prioritize it if ya' like Ascendance of a Bookworm, Raven of the Inner Palace, orHolmes of Kyoto.

Given what I recognize in the trailer, looks like it will cover to end of volume 2 of the Light Novel at least. Surprised by how much they choose to include in the trailer.

So far the trailer is making me hopeful they'll do well for the series. Here is hoping for the best, I'm really quite fond of this series.

…Aw, HELLS yeah. Very Happy Spreadsheet updated with great pleasure. (Looks like this might be a new record for Narou-to-anime-debut time!)

Lul at starting with THAT Maomao moment. (And they're keeping her catgirl bits! And letting her go full mad-scientist gremlin in the animation!)

This is one of those series I just KNEW would some day get an adaptation. It's still surprising how it finally came out.

Visually looks good and sounds interesting, I just hope it's not another case where the names are different between what spoken and what's in the subs like with Raven.
I understand why it can happen with Chinese names, but I find it too distracting when there's that disconnect.
