What a loss. He also voiced Ryu's "Hadou mentor" in Street Fighter II V. My condolences to his family and the voice acting community.

Considering his age, I can't say it's too surprising to hear this news, but even so, this is still a huge loss. Knight was one of my favorite dub VAs, I don't think anyone could possibly replicate his voice (except for maybe Russell Roberts). R.I.P.

A great, perhaps underutilized talent. His Aramaki is one I always remember. Thank you.

A truly underrated talent. My favorite role of his, aside from Aramaki, was Gordon Rosewater in Big O. He will be missed.

Probably one of the most iconic and coolest old guy voices in anime.
He was always able to capture such experience, wisdom, and command with the characters he voiced.
RIP William Frederick Knight.

he was still pretty active for someone at his age,so his passing still feels a bit sudden. He also voiced Kenzou in the most recent batch of episodes of Stone Ocean

Very sad to hear his passing.
His voice was unique when he voiced Aramaki, he'll surely be missed. My heart & condolences goes out to his families & the voice acting communities.

When I heard him as Kenzou in Stone Ocean recently I truly thought he did a great job for his age. It's amazing he continued to act until his death.
RIP. Thank you for lending your great recognizable voice to so many great things. He will be missed.

Sad to hear a VA icon who did such memorable characters has departed and it makes me wonder, who is the person to take up the mantle of Ubiquitous Old Man/Person Voice in anime? His passing is sadder in some respects because the answer to the question, it seems, is that there isn't one. There are fewer such characters than ever before and I can't currently recall any characters in the last decade who were supposed to be men and over early "middle-age" other than those he did. And elves don't count! Anime has become No Country for Old Men...

What a huge loss of a voice that was instantly recognizable. His work as Aramaki was always excellent and oddly soothing? No matter what was going on in the story(especially the latter half of 2nd GIG), whenever he was talking things felt like they were going to be ok. I'm glad he was able to return for the Netflix seasons. Even if they weren't as good as the previous ones, he still delivered the same performance.
Rest in Peace

I had a Mandela Effect here and thought he had already passed on.He lived to a pretty good age.
@Hiroki not Takuya I know My Hero has Sorahiko Torino. I don't know if counts as it was an adaptation of an old Manga, but Dororo had Biwamaru. There was an episode of Nadesico that explained why Anime characters are on the younger side.

Sad to hear, but at least he was able to live a long and fruitful life.

Well, hell. I liked Mr. Knight's Aramaki. I hope his friends and family will be all right.
