Youtube has the first two episodes of W to watch legally. It's how Shotaro and Philip meet Akiko who acts as the audience surrogate. Guess Tokime took such role for the anime.

W is one of my absolute favorite Kamen Rider series, and I can't even begin to express how happy Fuuto PI has made me. The people doing the storyboarding and key animation have some very obvious love for W in particular and Kamen Rider in general, and it shows in basically every frame. Plus, they got the original band back to do a new version of WBX (the opening theme from the original, and probably one of my two favorite themes in all Kamen Rider), and I can't tell you how giddy that made me when I realized what I was hearing.

But more than all of that, it makes me so happy that we're getting a high-quality product that will draw in new fans. I'm one of those people where, when I really love a series or game or book or whatever, I want other people to experience it too. To share in the enjoyment. Fuuto PI stands a solid chance of accomplishing that, and words can't encapsulate how happy that makes me. W is a good series and it deserves good things.

It's good to know Shotaro's good boy-ness is coming across to newcomers. I was thinking it seemed like they'd toned down his dorkiness a lot, but it seems I'm just being overly critical because of how invested I am in the quality of Fuuto PI.

Not just that, but the ending theme was composed by Koji Kikkawa and performed by Mitsuru Matsuoka, who played Double's two movie-exclusive Riders, Skull and Eternal respectively.

I've said this elsewhere, even here on ANN, but part of the reason I was so hyped for Fuuto PI is because IMO Double is basically the perfect entry-level Kamen Rider show for someone looking to get into the franchise. It's a very good show in all regards, and it avoids the excesses that hobbled other entries in the franchise. In short, it's modern Kamen Rider at its best and absolutely deserved a sequel.

Now if only we could get Toei to license the original show to Funi or Shout Factory so people could actually watch it legally...

Wait, WHAT. Kikkawa Kouji and Matsuoka Mitsuru???! I know precious little about Kamen Rider (and I really enjoy Fuuto PI so I guess that answers the article's question!), but I must get a hold of this! Kikkawa is a legend and I've loved Matsuoka since his Sophia days, albeit I haven't followed his acting - but the two together must be awesome.

I thought the show might be a good infection vector, but having watched W I had too much bias to know for sure. It's flawed (the end of each arc drags) but it's an overall quality product that needs to get its 2-in-1 butt on Toonami ASAP.
