As much as I’m excited for more SK8, what would a second season even be about?

You know your series was a major success if it is anime original, has both an ova and a 2nd announced.
I am not saying it does not happen but anime originals don't usually tend to get as many sequels as much as manga or ln adaptations, especially in an industry so competitive where even popular titles never get more. As it should as it is a good series and deserves it, i just hope the plot that will follow is as good as season one. We just have to wait and see. |

I'm wondering about that as well. Season 1 told a complete, satisfying story, so I was expecting the sequel project to be just a movie bringing the gang back together one last time. I trust Utsumi and Okouchi, though, so they must have come up with some new concepts and characters that can sustain a whole season. I loved SK8 the Infinity and it's one of my favorite recent shows. I was not expecting us to get a full s2 so I'm very happy to see more of the gang again.

I did not expect this show would get a sequel! A very pleasant surprise. It's an original property and tells a self-contained story. So I thought a follow-up is very unlikely. Very excited about more content from sk8.
Tbh I don't think most people watch this show for the story; the characters sure but not the story. I watch this show to see cute boys doing crazy skateboarding moves with flashy animation (BONES did a very fine job with the first season). As long as they establish a plausible premise for the boys to do more crazy stunts, I'm more than happy to go for another ride. |

hope utsumi use the sudden girlfriend appearance in the new season since it was one of their ideas that didn't use with the first season.

I'm so psyched for this! I loved how fun and bombastic Sk8 is. Became a hardcore matchablossom shipper and boy did the dub do it justice. Bring on season two at long last!
