Women also prefer reading romance stories where the female lead doesn’t act like frightened rabbit all the damn time. I’m a Western reader and I’m sure it sends the wrong message to others when the girl never looks happy, never appears to be enjoying the intimacy, and always looks scared in these kinds of manga. In fact, why is the female lead a teenager and not an adult woman?

Don't know why you reference the abortion debate, I'd say it has always been distasteful at minimum that women are pressured into having many children, if historically based. Not to mention the "sharing bodily fluids" bit, uugh! It can be found in the scriptures that God's plan was for men to treat women as co-equal partners so conversely, predatory males and human traditions that feed into that are inspired by the Enemy using humanity's "fallen" state. That there is a market among women for this scenario, witness Harlequin Romances, belies that this isn't always unwilling though. "Male tyranny" isn't necessarily involved...

Replace women with "I", "I prefer to read." You don't speak for all women. Some when might like the nervous, shy lead because they can relate to it and any fears they have about intimacy. I also think expecting to receive a message about love, sex, and romance from what is essentially p*rn is sending the wrong message. Not all erotica is intended to show a wholesome healthy romance, but even if it were it's not the place to learn. If that's what you want to see, it's fine, then when you see reviews like this just remember to skip the series. I know I'm not a fan of degradation and humiliation, so if a series has it I pass on it. That doesn't mean there aren't women out there that do enjoy it.
That said I do have a couple of favorite manga artists that draw healthy happy sweet love erotica for women with mostly adult characters if you need any recommendation on manga artists that consistently draw sweet love erotica.

anyway, "beauty and the beasts" seem pretty mid, to low-tier(Unless it has your fetish, then it might be top teir). There is better TL manga out there.

For what it is, i.e. the particular romance tropes it embodies, this isn't the worst I've read, but it absolutely isn't for everyone. The second release from the Steamship line, I'll Never Be Your Crown Princess, is much more to my personal taste, and I think is generally a better story; no doormat heroine and more of a historical romance feel with a stronger emotional component. BUT it's definitely worth mentioning that the Steamship imprint in general appears to be trying to bring over a variety of female-oriented romance manga embodying a wide variety of tropes; the third title, GAME, is an office-set enemies-to-lovers story.
I do think this wasn't the best choice of inaugural title, but don't write the whole thing off based on this series.

Yeah, that's what it seemed like. It's Mid, not the best thing ever but not awful. It isn't my cup of tea either though because I don't like harems, but there are plenty of women that do, so good for them! I'll Never Be Your Crown Princess, on the other hand, was very much enjoyable from the little bit I've read.
I think it's great that they are bringing over a variety of different flavors of female-oriented romance. There is no one right way to have a romance story, just personal preference on what you want to read/enjoy reading. Not all women have the same taste. I know plenty of women that are looking forward to Ladies On Top, but it seems to have a kink I don't really enjoy despite the wonderful art so I'll probably pass myself.
This might not be the best choice of inaugural titles but I think it's suitable. It's kind of tame, generic, bodice ripper style of story and it didn't seem to have many more unique fetishes. The reason I think it's a suitable choice based on that is it doesn't skew expectations of future content. Like if they started with the femdom one people might expect only femdom content. Just slowly easing into the variety of options.

This sort of reminds me of the manga, Black Rose Alice. Just replace the vampire boys with other immortal beasts and, there ya go...similar plot. That being said, I did enjoy the fetish explored in that manga (as well as many other reverse harem 'bad endings'), so I'll be picking this up.
