I get the feeling as Dragami Games was being formed, they looked at their IP catalog to see what they could remaster for a quick buck and landed on this. So it's also unsurprising they're not dropping the dough on the music.

They also mentioned somewhere that it'd have "more realistic" graphics, which sounds like code to me for "we couldn't figure out how to do the comic book filters used in this game so we're just not gonna bother".

...I dunno. Prove me wrong, Dragami Games. Prove me wrong.

"more realistic graphics" sounds more like code for censoring fanservice.

And just like that, I wish they would just re-release the game. At least emulators exist, dubious legal boundaries aside.

Only if your reading comprehension is poor.

They wouldn’t need to obfuscate such a thing.

I find it so bizarre that people keep mentioning that this game will be censored in today's "climate",when the game had nothing risque to it.

It did sell 1,000,000+ copies.

But if you told me almost nobody played any of those copies, I'd believe you!

I mean, an attractive female character is generally considered risqué these days (at least in the west) But I don't think anything will be censored since this is a Japanese made game.

The game blows and was sexist as hell (the endless rape jokes aged like milk) so I couldn´t care less. James Gunn hasn´t written the original, he was only brought on to oversee the localization and helped with getting some of the actors and bands due to his Hollywood connection. Suda51 didn´t direct it either. He directed waaay fewer games than people think. The game being propped up by the then-middling name recognition of both was always a marketing lie.

The best part of the original game. The only good part? The included song Turtle Crazy!:

It was a pretty good game.. I can't believe that was 10 years ago. It was entertaining enough to play through to unlock items and other things. Honestly I can't say it would be my first pick to dust off my PS3 with.

Almost nothing you said above is true.
