First thing’s first, really happy we are getting weekly streaming and it won’t be locked for months. Just looking at what happened with previously hyped-up shows like Stone Ocean, I don't think Netflix's release model would have done much good here.
Second though, I would have been so excited for the dub’s potential a few months prior with this announcement since CR/previously Funi had by far the widest casting net of the major dub studios (esp compared to if Netflix got it instead and had Studiopolis or Bang Zoom dub it over NYAV Post). But with limiting everything to in-house this season, I can’t help but be a bit disappointed and apprehensive with that massive loss of potential. Really hope they throw the casting net as wide as they can and include established actors from all over as well as all the brand new (and underpaid) TX talent we’ve seen pop up recently. It is a huge property so they honestly could go the Attack on Titan route with auditions, which was a pretty big/unique deal for Funi at the time and its multi-local cast was a game changer back then.
I haven’t read enough of the manga to make full casting predictions, but previously I always had Kellen Goff in my head as the lead. Always open to directors’ casting decisions obviously, whether they’re established or new. But seriously, given his huge range and the the types of characters he's been cast in (particularly his dorkier roles in Akudama Drive or The Night is Short, Walk on Girl in addition to his numerous creature/monster roles in video
games), he always just seemed way too perfect for this character specifically. He's done a lot of work with Funi prior to the current mandate so I hope he at least gets a chance to audition and isn't locked out because he's in LA.

There's 197 countries in this world. What the fudge.

It does say "countries & territories", so it's a cumulative number. For example, the United States is a "country", but it also owns "territories", namely American Samoa, Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands, Puerto Rico, & the U.S. Virgin Islands. Adding those alone now totals 202 "countries & territories", and there are other places like that all over the world.

Well, weekly releases are go, which given how people have turned against the binge release model, is probably for the best.

Thank God CR got the distribution rights instead of Netflix, at least this gives me hope that the Neutral Spanish dub will be at least decent since CR has dubbed all of their anime in Mexico, including those based on Shonen Jump manga like Dr. Stone, Jujutsu Kaisen and Spy X Family (which have pretty good dubs). It's kind of funny/sad that out of all of the anime based on Shonen Jump manga dubbed into Neutral Spanish in the last 5 years the worst has been the My Hero Academia latin spanish dub, especailly considering that it's one of the most popular titles, but sadly Funimation's Latin American branch chose the wrong dubbing studio.

You mean Netflix's Neutral Spanish dubs are bad? Are you talking about the ones dubbed in Colombia? Because Bubble and Vampire in the Garden and Tiger & Bunny 2 were dubbed in Mexico.

So, honest question.
Has there ever been a non-sequel anime that was more anticipated than this one?

No, I wasn't talking about the quality of Netflix's dubs, most of them are pretty good, the ones made in Colombian are the only ones that have some problems, like Ultraman. I know the majority are recorded in Mexico, but Edens Zero Chilean dub was pretty good as well. I just didn't want a repeat of the Stone Ocean situtation, because Netflix don't do simuldubs and that affected other shows like Komi-san (which had an excelent Neutral Spanish dub).

Spy x Family comes to mind. My Hero Academia was pretty hyped as well. And from my circle while small Devil Man Crybaby.

What happened with Stone Ocean. I'm still going through Golden Wind some I'm not caught up yet. Were there some behind-the-scenes issues?

We kinda thought we would be getting new batches of episodes around 3 months but we have to wait till the fall of this year.
