This was a suprise, but a welcome one, to this local. I grew up on kikaida and Kamen Rider V3 with KIKU, as well as Mazinga, Raideen, and Getta Robo, and many, many others. Unfortunately none of that kind of stuff is on KIKU, and their schedule is a bit hard to grasp. Oh well, still nice to see them with some Japanese programming.

This is my first time hearing about KIKU TV, but what's more surprising that it airs Filipino programs as well... huh.

I'm happy it's back. My family missed the Japanese programming while it was gone. As for why they also air Filipino programming it is quite simple: Hawai'i has a large, growing population of Filipinos (about 75% of my coworkers are Filipino and a bunch also speak one of the Filipino dialects). Hawai'i has a very diverse population so it's good to have a channel that airs a variety of programs that are not American.

Thank you for this! Based from my location on my profile, you already know where I'm from. But I didn't even think that our programs would be aired in Hawaii and by a TV station that isn't local (ex. ABS-CBN, GMA, or TV5).

Isn't that the station that had the first US airing of Shin-chan?
