For the situation she was in, yeah... this was a possible outcome that was expected.

Is this the "four times" VA everyone talking about?

That's unfortunate, a very short career, but if it's for health reasons it's better to retire than to push herself and make things worse.

It was expected. Her career is bust after that.

Apparently she was accused of cheating on her boyfriend. The guy she was cheating with had a girlfriend who found them out and went public with the scandal. https://www.gamerbraves.com/runa-narumi-voice-of-yuika-mitsumine-from-ims-shiny-colors-is-removed-likely-due-to-ntr-allegations/ This is exactly like Tatsuhisa Suzuki getting cancelled by the Japanese fandom after being accused of cheating on his wife, J-pop star LiSA. |

Something that I don't get: Frequently, when a Japanese celeb admits to cheating or is caught cheating on their partner, they are blacklisted or given harsher consequences than the Nobuhiro Watsukis of Japan. Any thoughts as to why that is?

I think that's just how their standards are. You also have to remember that getting caught with drugs in Japan leads to harsher punishments than in the West. |

I think Nobuhiro Watsuki is a special case in that he's so influential and famous that he can get away with things. Also, for some reason, I also feel there was some legal loophole involved, or that he was famous enough to have the opportunity to exploit it. Other not-as-famous creators like the authors of Act-Age and Galko are pretty much done with their career as it looks right now. Also, earlier this year, a famous Japanese YouTuber (Mahoto Watanabe) was exposed for trying to solicit nudes from one of his underage fans and then blackmailing her with them... he only served a small jail time and later paid a fine, which only seems like a slap on the wrist, but his entertainment career is pretty much over. |

While I'm not sure if the punishment fits the crime (genuinely I can't decide, it's an awful thing to do and doesn't say good things about the person's character, but to lose your entire career over it forever? I dunno), with how often it happens and how harsh the consequences always are... you'd think it wouldn't be worth the risk.
