Devastating loss for anime. She wrote for some of the best. RIP to one of the greats.

that's sad to hear. Rest in peace. My thoughts are with her friends and family. Losing someone to cancer is always devastating

Sad to hear. Cowboy Bebop and Wolf's Rain wouldn't be the same hits if it wasn't for him.

Wolf’s Rain is still probably my all time favorite anime, and that’s not even getting into all her amazing work on Cowboy Bebop, Tokyo Godfathers, Macross Plus, episodes of Space Dandy, etc… what a devastating loss.

Rest in Peace to an OG of the industry. She wrote some of the best anime of our lifetimes, and it's a shame that she's gone so soon.

So young….heartbreaking. She was such a wonderful writer. Anime will be much poorer without her

He is actually a she.
She was behind many truly amazing titles that countless people enjoy to this day. As big and impactful as her work on the scripts for Wolf's Rain and Bebop may be, one of my personally favorites is the Tokyo Godfathers movie she worked with Satoshi Kon on. I watch that film every holiday season.

Truly devastating news. I loved Cowboy Bebop but Wolf's Rain is truly out of this world on every level... I was always hoping that she would write another anime original ... so sad

I hope this is the impetus for more people to recognize how important she was to Watanabe's career; without her his entire oeuvre would look very different. She deserves to be celebrated in the same breath as a master of her craft.

One of the greats. It wasn't until recent years where I realized how pivotal she was to Watanabe's shows. Devastating.

"Been a long road to follow, been there and gone tomorrow,
Without saying goodbye to yesterday.
Are the memories I hold still valid?
Or have the tears deluded them?
Maybe this time tomorrow, the rain will cease to follow,
And the mist will fade into one more today.
Something somewhere out there is calling....
Am I going home? Will I hear someone
Singing solace to the silent Moon?
Zero gravity, what's it like?
Am I alone? Is somebody there beyond these heavy, aching feet?
Still, the road keeps on telling me to go on....
Something is calling me:
I feel the gravity of it all."
Goodbye, Nobumoto-san, and thank you so much.
