Eh, dunno about this.. Her voice itself being recognizable and somewhat unique would definitely create issues distinguishing personalities of the characters... unless that is one of the point of the show.

I think she can be a veritable vocal chameleon when she wants to be.

She has many voices.
About a different voice actress (Megumi Hayashibara), I once surprised a big chunk of my anime club by telling them: "The same voice actress plays Lina Inverse, Rei Ayanami, and Faye Valentine" (that said, something Irina said in a recent episode of Irina, Vampire Cosmonaut made me look to see that she was played by Hayashibara).
I'm often surprised to find out that Aoi Yuki is voicing this or that role.
