Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
Really hoping she had the vaccine. I've seen close up what the virus does to someone without it and I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy, let alone one of my favorite female voice actors

Why does it seem like so many anime seiyuu are getting COVID lately? I recall when the pandemic started last year there was a lot of regulatory precautions taken to keep seiyuu safe. I hope she gets better soon. I love Silica in SAO.

Because they are acting like it is business as usual in Japan and the "lockdown" measures are a joke.
There is no way they could have had that many infections in the industry if everyone was observing social distancing and keeping minimal contact and working in isolation. But corporate management says: "keep going as before, we need to get this show done" and that's what you end up with.
The rankling thing for me isn't that they are getting infected. They are mostly young and likely to survive...its the other people they are making contact with who may be older and more vulnerable and have no chance to survive an infection like this.
No one is thinking of other people...and it is a shitty situation.

I wish Hidaka a painless recovery and hope there are not any lingering effects.

Unfortunately, this seems to be pretty accurate. Even places/businesses that were better about these things seem to have decide to concede and behave like infections are just a thing to deal with. Seasonal anime seems to be getting made at about the same rate as before, and I doubt they could pull that off without mostly doing things as before. The actors would be especially at risk. They record in groups, and anyone speaking isn't going to be wearing a mask. It's a pretty bad scenario considering how the virus spreads.
