Martian Successor Nadesico: This was one the first things I watch on the early Anime Network VOD days (between 2001-2005). Still have that OP and ED stuck in my head.

I never got around to watching Nadesico. Maybe I should check it out.

Glad to see Tetsujin 2004 getting more attention, it's a very overlooked series. Nadesico is also really good

Nadesico is very good. The only large complaint I have is that there isn't much of an ending...

I'd even go as far as saying that Nadesico was notorious for this. The movie was widely-considered to be a very unsatisfying follow-up, too.
Despite that, Nadesico was still one of the biggest fan-favorite titles of the late '90s and early '00s; IIRC, it even got voted as "best anime series ever" at one point. In a very real sense it was the '90s version of The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. (Or perhaps more accurately, MoHS was a 2000s version of it.) Some of its humor would be considered old-school by current standards, but a lot of its craziness, gimmickry, and occasionally-shocking tonal shifts stand the test of the time. Glad to see it's coming to streaming for new generations to see.

I just remember how the admiral(?) constantly comments on how hot his daughter to her crew.

Hopefully this platform will get some of the unlicensed Pretty Cure too.

Looks like this service actually was in talks with Shawnek and Nozomi Entertainment for the rights to their titles.

Was a bit excited to see new licenses by DMR but then I realized these are all streaming elsewhere already.
CR in particular had Nadesico since... 11/30/2017 it seems.

Anyone watching Nadesico for the first time, pay attention to all the ways it uses memory, nostalgia, and history: nostalgia, Akito’s (and others’) memories of Gekiganger, Omoikane’s memories, Ruri’s memories, Yurika’s and Akito’s differing memories of their childhood times. There’s also the holes in various characters’ memories.
I think it adds a great deal of depth to the series. Memory and forgetting repeatedly play major plot points in the series.
Then remember that the series was written during one of Japan’s occasional controversies over school history books’ treatment of WWII.

Hold on, Boogiepop and Others (as in the 2018/19) series, did FUNimation’s license expired?
