To be fair the existence of this game was public knowledge long before E3.

Whoa, they're keeping the Naruhodo surname! I don't know why that's what surprises me the most of this announcement, but it is. Is Capcom cutting back on the localization for this compilation? Are they just treating it as a complete spinoff and making no references to Ryuunosuke being Phoenix's ancestor?

A little of both, I'd say. It would pretty much be incredibly silly to try to play up the lead characters not being Japanese given the setting and plot, but from the looks of it, they did change a few other names not-Japanese characters names. Aside from the obvious Herlock Sholmes, from the demos they showed Dimitri Demiglaski was changed to Vilen Borshevik, which is a bit random but still Russian so it's not like they were trying to pretend the character was a different nationality or something.

Of course I knew that, I meant the fact we got more info and a gameplay demo, which is still far more exciting than most other announcements (certainly before BOTW2 and Metroid, anyway)
