Reading The Faraway Paladin is making me think there's probably a thesis to be written somewhere on the portrayal of isekai-inducing gods in isekai fiction -- the likes of Aqua, Hitogami, D, and this dude. You could even rope in characters like the love god from The 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really, Really, Really, Really Love You. (TFP's approach is unusual in that Will becomes a priest of Gracefeel and takes the duties expected of him seriously, and it actually puts work into making it believable that he'd worship her.) |
