Could be an aggrieved gacha or character merch zealot. I mean, it's a heinous way to deal with it and they're totally misdirecting the anger.
Still, the prices of figures over the last five years comes to mind...

Probably it wasn't a serious threat, but you can never be sure...the problem is when they don't send you anything before striking.

Jeez, it's tough reading news about possible arson and anime studios, but I'm glad they took it seriously and arrested the woman.

Or she didn't like the look of the final season and threatened the wrong studio

Japan in general takes violent crime extremely seriously, largely because it is so rare there to begin with. I wouldn't surprised if this mere attempt shuts down the entire surrounding neighborhood at the least.

Eh. The Kyoto animation fire bomber had actually sent threats before he did it, and it was not treated particularly seriously.

Considering what a national catastrophe that was, I wouldn't be surprised if they punish her severely for similar threat. An she deserves that - she must have knew the terrible outcome of the previous fire and still tough it was good idea to threaten other people, some of them probably knew the victims themselves.
