Pretty much immediately one to look out for this year.
Quote: | Norifumi Kugai (ACCA: 13-Territory Inspection Dept.) is handling the anime characters designs based on the original designs by manga artist and illustrator Hisashi Euguchi (Perfect Blue, Roujin Z, Eiji, Stop! Hibari-kun, Mujin Wakusei Survive). |
I was wondering who those character designs reminded me of. (Funny there's even a Stop! Hibari-kun volume in the trailer)

NOW we are talking. Hellyeah this looks Amazeballs. At long last something to truly look forward to. Hopefully we'll get this for Summer (which is looking pretty dire and could sure use some truly great series...) Can't. Freaking. Wait.

Animation looks flat as hell for something produced by Madhouse.

You're tripping. The little character acting the PV showed was quite lively, lots of subtle but realistic movement, especially that run cycle. But this is what happens when you treat a studio as a single entity you start to think every show has to move or look a certain way.
edit: It seems that you weren't even talking about the actual animation... but the unique art style.

if anything, its cool to see that madhouse has the skills to animate like that.
also looking up to this , it gives me big katsura vibes ( pre devilman ) even up to the timeline, like it feels 80/90s even if it has smart phones.

Not sure about the art style, but sounds interesting, so I'll check it out

I'm mostly concerned at why that left girl is holding the cat in that manner. Almost want it to claw the shit out of her.

I dunno how she's even doing that; the front half of the cat seems to be either defying gravity, or standing on something off-panel. Though I'm mainly confused as to why the cat appears to be... conspicuously not neutered. And in general why the cat stands out so much when it doesn't seem to be what the anime is about at all.
