SinoAlice collabs are really bizarre to me as someone who knows the Nier franchise and the game premise, but hasn't played the game itself.

Anyway, ReZero needs to sleep around the mobile game scene until it comes to Cinderella Girls. I want some Subaru, Puck, and Emilia plushies in my office.

I’ve played a bit of it and it’s kind of a bizarre game, though mechanically similar to other time-and-money-leeching mobile games and not usually interesting enough to make up for that imho. I hope NieR: Reincarnation will be more worthwhile.

They also had a Space Invaders collaboration, by the way.

A lot of the limited-time content, including collabs, are themed around stories and storytelling, so there's a bit of built-in flexibility there.

The devs also love to break the fourth wall. In the Reincarnated as a Slime collab, the story starts with the narrator characters wanting in on the whole isekai trend, and latching on to that franchise to try and get some of that success for themselves.

In the Re: Zero collaboration quest they also have some unwinnable battles where you need to die and then return by death, which is rather clever.

The Re:Zero cast looks very...dashing, in that art style. Although the girls are still pretty cute.

I've never heard of this game before but I really like the artwork for Subaru here.

One of the things I've never liked about Re:Zero is how cutesy the females look.

Yeah, it makes very good use of the game's mechanics and interface to convey that aspect of the story. It took me by surprise the first time it happened.
