Jujutsu Kaisen has been selling a lot faster than KNY did while the anime was running, wheras the latters boost came after the anime ended.
Now we wait to see how well the sales for JJK do with it's anime concluding.

The fact that this is already on track to outsell MHA is a little bonkers to me. But, it had a stellar first season adaptation and the source material is just as good.

Its a happy cycle if a great anime adaptation leads to increased sales which then leads to more of the series being adapted into anime (Jujutsu Kaisen 0 is already getting a film so we can guess JJK will get a second season in mid-late 2022).

It already outsold MHA a couple of months ago. MHA has 30M copies in circulation.

It already outsold MHA a couple of months ago. MHA has 30M copies in circulation. |
Circulation and sales are not QUITE the same as circulation just means 'number of copies printed'. And My Hero Academia seems to have updated it's circulation numbers to about 37 million. Still less than JJK, specially given that MHA is older, has double the amount of volumes and extra material (light novels and the likes, which are also included in the calculation, and that JJK is growing FAST.
