Can't say the delays really bother me anymore - Eva is pretty much a spent force anyway. The films felt largely incoherent as the characters became more caricatures of their own instability, there was no fun in watching.
The original series (released back in the 90's) was ground-breaking, esoteric and dramatic. The films just felt like a marketing plan to keep interest in merchandise going. |

This is unfortunate, but safety first.
WE can at least hope it would be released around spring since by then, most people would be vaccinated. |

It is better safe than sorry as right now
but man, this movie really can't catch a break, years of delay due to production issues and the like and now due to health concerns. I just hope it goes well. |

Being cynical, I think the delayed release might have something to do with the low numbers they would get now.

I think it's more about social responsibility. They don't want to force/entice the fans to gather in cinemas now, so they did the right thing. In any other country, the cinema theaters are among the first business to close during lockdown, and rightly so. If the government can't get their act together, then it's up to the people/businesses to make the right decisions. |

Khara keeps the light one during all of this partially be doing a crap ton of assistance work. If you check the studio's encyclopedia page, Khara does A LOT of in-between animation & the like for other anime, keeping them busy at all times. So while this new delay does suck for the last film, it probably won't hurt Khara too much, financially, in the short term. That talent will be able to shine again in the future, I'm sure. |

I hope they spend the time in delay working on subtitles. I'd probably buy the Japanese Blu-ray if it came with subtitles.

they should just release it digitally unless Anno shares his master's sentiments on digital media and that's why it's been the way it has.
