I read and reviewed the first manga volume a couple of years back, and it wasn't as over-the-top on the sex content as you might expect; it was barely any stronger than a typical fan service-laden harem series. Thus it may not actually by that hard to adapt.
I do, however, also remember that there wasn't much variance on the builds of the prospective mates. If you prefer anything other than big-busted babes, you may not be impressed by this.

Frankly, I'm fairly sure nobody will like it for completely different reasons. Having read it up to the current point for the simple reason of just wanting to see how it ends, the series does have fanservice and sex scenes but they're maybe 20% of the content early and drop down to around 10% as it keeps going.
The vast majority of the manga is fairly middling near-future sci-fi with lots of talking heads and very little in the way of sensible message or purpose. You want to be reading the fantasy spin-off if you're in it for the smut.

Main character's stubbornness in that particular situation just comes off as selfishness. Never was able to get into that manga.

Wait actual sex scenes? That's unusal even for an anime like this.

Not as much as you might think. Actual or strongly-implied sex scenes have been a bit more common the last few years.
For instance, The Ideal Sponger Life has a sex scene in the first volume but very little fan service in the five volumes since.

World's End Harem is a unique or rather rare manga series that just seems to get everything wrong, in my perspective at least.
I like what I assume to be every other reader picked up the series based on the cover/visuals hot girls, sexy situations. The other factor was that the description that seemed interesting enough, apocalyptic virus, sci-fi elements of cryosleep (I've read and loved 'King of thorn').
So I went in with the expectation of getting a terrible (or mediocre) story but with at least nice visuals or the opposite. I'd be impressed if it were good on both ends. But what I got was felt like a half-assed manga that was self-censored due to where it was being published.
Basically, WEH didn't have a good story but it wasn't a hentai where you could handwave the story away as a means to... well 'entertain.'
It feels like a hentai plot that someone came up with but decided to remove the 'juicy' bits and replace it with a very shallow story. The main character very much reads like a hentai protagonist and has to fend off all these busty babes(not unlike the harem genre but far more explicit) But again the series doesn't really commit to one thing or the other.
If I had to give examples that took a ridiculous scenario and took it to the most illogical extreme, I'd say look at Keijo, Prison School, Negima, and To-Love-Ru. Keijo takes a silly concept very seriously and creatively while still being aware of the absurdity. Prison School does the same with fetishes. Negima started with fanservice and slowly sprinkled in story, in the later volumes it became half and half while being fanservicey and plot-heavy (until the author imploded the series or something). And To-Love-Ru was absurd from the get-go, in an almost looney tunes way.
WEH just doesn’t feel like it ‘commits’ to anything. I feel like if it tried to be a silly rom-com it wouldn’t be good but it would be funny. It ‘tries’ to be a serious manga but the way the women act in this series is the furthest thing from serious. Again in a less serious setting their actions can be swept under the rug because there's a sort of understanding between the artist and reader (you're not here for the story, you’re here for the fanservice
All in all I think WEH could have been a really entertaining series by focusing on trying to do one thing, tell an interesting scifi story of love, conspiracy and perseverance or show a lot of f***ing with a diverse cast or fetishes.

It was only a niche VR game but kind of a bummer that Shizuka Ito and Yu Asakawa aren't reprising their roles (Mira and Akane). Best of luck to the new voices though

The designs look nice. As usual, I'm waiting for the BD's.

It gets heavier and there's more as the manga progresses. Though I would say the content really doesn't push anymore boundaries then say Valkyrie Drive Mermaid did. I'm not saying it's a top quality show, but it's not quite as explicit as some might think. I do think it's just explicit enough though that it will garner a decent amount of toning it down. Only the BR releases will show what the true final product is. Now for a title that definitely goes past this level and right into hentai you have Parallel World. That one should almost be produced in the west by FAKKU. Stopped that series after vol 2.
